Q.  Describe a place near a lot of water that you enjoyed visiting. 

              You should say:

A.       A day I clearly remember was when I was in primary school, this day has stuck in my mind mainly and I mean not only it because it was my 6^th birthday, but !!!! my parents had promised me and my younger brother, my cousin actually a day out in Beijing, the Kanyu River, a man made river in the Summer Palace and coming from a small country side town this was a big event, so the excitement the days before was quite intense.

We had arrived early in the morning, so this 6year old boy, full of mischief, always looking to play a trick or do something bad on his cousin, much to the annoyance of my mother, who I think after about an hour of skylarking about just ignored us and went on chatting with her sister, with a warning not to get to close to the edge of the water, this in itself was like a red rag to a bull,. There were little sort of stepping stones out to a smallish island just far enough apart for a full grown man to have no difficulty in crossing but a 6 year old not so easy and for someone younger near impossible without help,, but the help was at hand,, me!!!!!! Or so he thought the hand to help pulled away at the last minute leaving him with nothing to grab hold of, but my jacket,, and not grab but almost with a death wish, last breath attempt,!!! However I in my infinite wisdom failed to notice that the stepping stone was not that big and certainly not big enough for two and seeing as my brother was the movable force this immovable object being me slipped and went head long into this nice ‘clean’ river, all I could hear as I plunged beneath the murky waters was my mum screaming something about not getting my shoes wet and my brother having a fit of laughter, thankfully the water only came up to my waist and being summer was even warm, not that that made any difference I was still soaked  from head to toe so looking like a drowned rat I climbed out with someone holding a tight grip to my ear shouting something in Chinese I can’t repeat, mum… was not looking pleased,, I wonder why !! !her beloved son was alive and well just wet,,, and very happy.
